Regina Holliday, Patient Artist Advocate 

Regina began painting a series of murals depicting the need for clarity and transparency in medical records. This advocacy mission was inspired by her husband Frederick Allen Holliday II and his struggle to get appropriate care during 11 weeks of continuous hospitalization at 5 facilities. After his death resulting from kidney cancer on June 17, 2009, she began painting a mural entitled "73 cents." It depicts the Holliday family's journey through the medical system. Regina also paints on the concepts discussed at medical conferences and presents them through a patients view. In addition she began a health advocacy movement called "The Walking Gallery."

 The Austin movie premier event will include a keynote from John Nance, JD, and Charles Denham, MD. A major feature of the evening will be the Austin premiere of TMIT's latest documentary, Surfing the Healthcare Tsunami: Bring Your Best Board™.

Surfing the Healthcare Tsunami: Bring Your Best Board™ TMIT is driving production of multimedia development of stories to improve patient safety in hospitals. Certain broadcast programs will be shown globally, and then will be made available to hospital leadership and front-line performance teams. Stories will include consumers, front-line caregivers, clinical and non-clinical leaders of hospitals, and international subject matter experts. The series of "arc to action" stories will be told to inspire both community and hospital leaders to act locally.

On Saturday 4/28 Dave DeBronkhart (a.k.a. ePatient Dave) from the Society for Participatory Medicine is giving another TEDx talk.  It won't be like the Maastricht one ‘Let Patients Help’ link to "TED talk" - this time 
he will present an overwhelming array of e-patient stories, including non-U.S. ones.  
These talks are short so each one will be short - 15-30 seconds. 

He’s a last-minute guy :) so he has to collect a lot of stories in a little time. So the awesome Bogdan Rau created a simple online form for this:
